There was a televised GOP Presidential debate?!?!

Did you know that on November 8th was the third televised debate for the Republicans?

Has the debate stage lost its luster because Donald Trump refuses to get on the stage because he is so far ahead in the polls?

Axios had viewership for the debate at 7.5 million people, an extremely low number for the future of the Republican party.

When can we expect to see Trump on the debate stage? Will it be after the primaries and when its down to the finals between Republican and Democrat?

Let's talk about it.

  1. I watched the debate, but if fell flat. The coverage was...Meh. It certainly was not advertised enough, even I had to search to find it unlike previous debates. It will be interesting to see how the 4th debate on December 6th, 2023 fares. Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly and cohost Elizabeth Vargas will host the debate on NewsNation which, according to Allsides.com and Ground.News is rated as a center and center-left news platform. Maybe it is because of Megyn Kelly's previous relationship with Fox News, I falsely assumed this would be a right-leaning platform. As to your other question, I'm not sure when we will see him on a debate state, if at all. He seems to be quite content using media, rallies, and even the legal system as his platform. It would be nice, as a courtesy to the voters of this country, if he willing participate on a substantive level in a debate. We may be waiting a while...

  2. I'm not sure we'll see him on another debate stage- it seems entirely possible that a Trump nomination will solidify a Democrat win for 2024. He has the option of blaming a loss on not 'trying' or not having the same airtime as other candidates, I personally think his mental deterioration makes it impossible for him to compete in a debate where he doesn't have memorized stump talking points. He would have to rely on mental acuity to spar back and forth organically, his mental decline just won't let him.
