Where are all the ads?!

 

I cannot be the only one that is relieved to not be inundated with political ads, especially since football is back, but where have they been?

With a full weekend of college football one would think that it would be a perfect time for candidates to get some 'face time' with the American voters. I'm interested to find out how many people watched the games all weekend and see how many ears the candidates lost out on.

Could politicians and their teams learned to not mix sports with politics? Did they realize that sports are for fun and they don't want to chance for a heated political debate to break out at a tailgate or a watch party?

  There is finally a new Speaker of the House, Congressman Mike Johnson of Louisiana. It took the Republican party 22 days to get the speaker the gavel. What I learned is that there can be no business done during the time of a Speaker vacancy, a lot happened in 22 days and a lot more could have happened.  Perhaps there should be an amendment that there is someone that can run the House in a vacancy until one is voted in. Is a Biden impeachment on its way?

CNN is reporting that the White House has sent a letter to news executives urging them to 'ramp up' scrutiny of Republican's Biden impeachment inquiry 'based on lies' What does that even mean?  It seems as though the White House, Democrats, CNN and other news organizations believe that the GOP is on a witch hunt, some is lying and there is no evidence of any high crimes or misdemeanors that President Biden has committed.  Fox News had a similar response when then Pres. Trump was being impeached.  Which leaves the question, has the impeachment process been politicized and will be used by the party in control of the House of Representatives now? Will we see an impeachment every four years if the President is a different party than the majority? This is a slippery slope and Americans should be worried.   Let's talk about it.
